Website Reflection

In beginning to build this website, only the second I’ve ever made, I have experienced both satisfaction as well as complete frustration. While I have minimal experience with website design, this is my first time using wordpress, and while it is surely fully customizable, it has taken me longer than I am proud of to figure out simple things. My struggles included how to change colors, backgrounds, and upload photos that fit the loose ideas I have in terms of a theme. While I had troubles initially, overall I am satisfied with many of the  choices I have decided to make, and some of the functions I have discovered along the way. One of my proudest moments thus far was learning how to change the background color for my website, which I hope I’m right in saying looks very sleek and simplistic. Another such addition I made to the site is the slideshow I created of four alternating images, the first being my favorite as it blends my love of music with the digital nature of this course. The next three point to some of my favorite pastimes, watching TV and movies, playing and watching sports, and writing creatively. While these images along with the New York City skyline above speak to me as a person, perhaps the title of the blog is the most me aspect of it; I am a corny old man at heart. While the title makes most people who have seen it roll their eyes in disgust, that paired with my URL which includes the word dot spelled out in between scotts and thoughts makes me happy every time I look at them. In the future I hope to link some of my favorite new songs and albums, perhaps some youtube videos, some sports articles written by myself and others, and most importantly add more, and better fitted photos to the slideshow and background.
